What can I include in my will?

WASIATY is not one form to fill in. These are real examples of what you can record, with an explicit account of what the platform does and what stays outside it.

Personal messages

Words meant for one particular person, at a time you decide.

  • A letter to my children, opened when each reaches a certain age.
  • An apology or a thank-you you never got the chance to say.
  • The family story as you know it, in your own voice.
Status

Available now: a text entry, or an audio or video recording (depending on your plan).

Files and memories

The photos, recordings and documents you want to survive.

  • The family photo album, with a note on each occasion.
  • Voice recordings of your grandparents' stories.
  • Copies of important documents your family should find easily.
Status

Available now: images and documents; audio and video depending on your plan.

Digital legacy instructions

What should happen to your accounts, sites and online content.

  • Delete my account on this platform, and memorialise the other one.
  • My domain passes to my business partner, with renewal instructions.
  • The credentials are in my password manager — the location is recorded here, never the password.
Status

Available now: a Digital Legacy section inside every will, with a digital executor you can appoint.

Charitable wishes

The good you hope will carry on after you.

  • I would like part of what I leave to go to a water project.
  • Support a Quran memorisation circle at the mosque I attended.
  • Contribute to a student's tuition each year.
Status

Available now as written documentation only. The platform does not collect or carry out donations.

Instructions for beneficiaries

Practical guidance that helps the people you choose act clearly.

  • Who should be told first, and who you would rather was not told.
  • Your funeral preferences, the city and the place.
  • Important contacts: your lawyer, accountant, doctor.
Status

Available now: funeral instructions, and important contacts with separate visibility settings per contact.

Financial wills and property

Division of an estate, property and financial obligations.

  • A statement of accounts and obligations so your heirs know them.
  • Your wish regarding a specific sum or property.
  • Where the original documents and title deeds are kept.
Status

You can record these here for clarity, but legal effect requires formal documentation with the competent authority in your country — consult a legal and religious specialist.

What WASIATY does, and what it does not

Five distinctions worth knowing before you start.

The platform does this

  • Storing your content

We store what you upload inside your account. Files are not kept in public folders, and every access passes a permission check first.

  • Recording your wishes

You write your wishes and instructions in detail, and they stay exactly as you wrote them.

  • Releasing content to beneficiaries

Once verification is complete, and according to the release policy you chose, each beneficiary reaches exactly what you allowed them — nothing more.

The platform does not do this

  • Legal execution

The platform does not produce a legally binding will and is no substitute for a notary or a lawyer. Requirements for legal effect differ between countries.

  • Third-party processes

Social platforms, banks and service providers each have their own procedures for a deceased person's account. WASIATY records your wish; it does not carry it out with them.

Start with what matters most

There is no need to write everything at once — start with a single entry and add to it whenever you like.
